Notes: San Onofre State Beach in Orange County, California is one of my favorite places to surf in the world— it looks like going back in time to the 1960’s, it’s very family oriented with a friendly and chill vibe (unlike several other more aggro SoCal surf spots), and it also has several world-class longboard breaks. The Beach Boys even named dropped it in their song, “Surfin’ U.S.A.” The waves are so good I always surf until past sunset there, even though getting out is a pain since its a rocky shallow bottom and it’s hard to see at dusk. Every time I think I’m last guy paddling in, but I always see someone else coming in even later, like these three lunatics at Old Man’s— it was pretty much dark, hence the slow shutter speed (1/3 of a second), but I love the blur.
