Notes: I miss this man, Vinnie Paul Abbott, terribly. Vinnie always had a smile for me whenever I saw him, even when I was crawling inside of his drum kit to point my camera at him, as I was doing when I shot this at a festival lamb of god played with HELLYEAH in Council Bluffs, Iowa. I’ve always loved this photo, because you can see the genuine smile in his eyes— he was happy to see me. Vinnie loved to do two things, and he did them both exceedingly well: 1) play music, & 2) make sure everyone around him was having a good time. Rest in peace, Vin— I miss grilling out with you in random parking lots across the world.
